Alastair Campbell-Binning

Originally from Surrey, I studied art at the West Surrey College of Art & Design and Twickenham. After a spell living in Sweden I went on to spend many years with the fine art print publishers, Thomas Ross as colour artist and studio manager. I decided to go freelance in 2005 to pursue my own interests, in art as well as Swedish translation, which also saw me and my partner spending time in Cambridgeshire, the Isle of Skye and in west Cornwall. We decided to move to the King's Lynn area last year.

I have exhibited at various opens and have held a couple of joint exhibitions in London and Cornwall, exhibited in New York and have also been represented by a gallery in Virginia.

I regard myself as a figurative/abstract figurative landscape painter working mainly in oils. I tend to be drawn to landscapes which are quite bare and stark, making use of spatial elements, colour and line, featuring expansive use of sky to convey a mood of quiet reflection and contemplation. Hopefully creating images which convey a sense of poetry, spirit and atmosphere.
