Fourteen Dersingham artists are once more opening up both their studios and their gardens to join in the annual Dersingham Open Gardens and Art Trail. This popular event takes place on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday May 27th and 28th from 11am to 5pm. Tickets with map are obtained from St Nicholas Church – £5.00 per person (£4.00 in advance from Dersingham Post Office), under 16s free. This year the Church is also the venue for morning coffee, light lunches and cream teas, as the former starting point of the old Church Hall is now being rebuilt to create a new Village Centre, currently emerging from a building site just across the road. Proceeds from this event will go towards the Village Centre and the Church. It is hoped that the new Centre will be completed this autumn, and it will provide an excellent venue for exhibitions both large and small.
The artists taking part in this event are Neil Adams, Valerie Anckorn, Carole Brookfield, Marty and Trudi Griffin, Jo Halpin Jones, Jill Ilett, Janet Martin, Steve Martyn, June and Ben Mullarkey, Julia Quance, Mike Smith, and Liz Stockley, several of whom are WNAA members. Do come along and see what the artists have been up to, and also enjoy their very varied gardens, from wild jungles to immaculate lawns and borders.
