‘come into the garden’ with Lesley Williams<\/p><\/div>\n

Several of our members spent the day at the Fermoy Gallery on Heritage Day demonstrating and engaging visitors in various activities. 670 people came through! We were there partly to flag up West Norfolk Artists Association, to help get the gallery space noticed and of course to encourage participation in the arts. We had a mini exhibition as well showing work by those who were involved.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Helena Anderson had a very busy day demonstrating silk painting techniques and lots of people got involved and had a go.<\/p>\n

Sally Grice had a display of her hand-crafted jewellery with a fascinating account of how she uses sustainable and reclaimed materials as far as possible. She was also demonstrating a drawing and design program on her iPad.<\/p>\n

Anybody interested in photography gravitated towards Jo Halpin Jones, who had information and advice on restoring old or damaged photographs.<\/p>\n

Izzy Wingham set up a table where you could try out different types and quality of pastels on a variety of paper and of course she was there to offer advice.<\/p>\n

Finally Lesley Williams invited visitors to ‘come into the garden’ and help to create a joint collage, using oil pastels to draw a flower and add it to the image.<\/p>\n

Chris Peel and Esther Marshall were there all day meeting and greeting and encouraging people to come in and have a look round and to get involved.<\/p>\n
