Hanneke Robson and her husband Derek moved to the village of Ringstead in 2018 after several years of living \u2018on the move\u2019 in a motorhome. Passionate about bringing the natural landscape back to rural England they embarked on a project to rewild an acre of land along Peddars Way South, near their home in Ringstead. To pay for this scheme, Hanneke had another project in mind, to open a small gallery in the village, showing both her own work as an artist and photographer and the work of other local artists.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The gallery is a conversion of what was originally a garage attached to their house in Docking Road, Ringstead. The space has now been transformed into three small gallery areas, each of which shows a variety of paintings, photography and sculpture. The gallery opened in August 2020 and initially footfall was quiet but nonetheless several sales were made. A number of WNAA members are among the artists represented and I was recently asked to join them, which I was pleased to do.<\/p>\n

Of course, since opening Hanneke has had to endure lengthy periods of closure due to successive lockdowns and restrictions, but the gallery reopened on the 15th April and already visitors are showing an interest. There is a thriving arts community in Ringstead and I hope this new venture will be a useful addition. Do call in and have a look if you\u2019re in the area.<\/p>\n
