Artist's Statement

Dave Nurney is an award winning illustrator specialising in Birds. He has illustrated or contributed to more than 20 books and his work has appeared in field guides, handbooks, periodicals, educational publications and magazines. He provides pen and ink line drawings for the annual Norfolk Ornithologists Association Report.

He has travelled to 5 continents in pursuit of birds; he has a diploma in Communication Design (1981 Epsom School of Art and Design).

He previously worked as a Graphic Designer and Technical Illustrator and is also a qualified Driving Instructor.

He previously worked in gouache for publication but during lockdown ‘discovered’ watercolour.

He tells awful jokes, plays bad racket-ball and acoustic guitar.
