Artist's Statement

Inspired by Nature, especially wildlife, I have been fascinated with pencils and paper since childhood. I was invited to study at the Medway College of Art, and Regent Street Polytechnic.

A qualified photographer aged 19, at Country Life I assisted artists and photographers, like Cecil Beaton. To understand more about paper, at 22 I successfully applied to Bowater’s as a research, scientific and forensic photographer. This and my previous experience are reflected in my realistic approach and meticulous detail. Examples, plus paper sculptures and paper cutting, in which I am self-taught, are in collections worldwide.

I have exhibited at The Mall Galleries, with various Royal and professional societies, especially the Society of Wildlife Artists. For six years I was selected for the late David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation’s Wildlife Artist of the Year Exhibition. A drawing, papercuts and a miniature painting have sold to benefit the Foundation.
