Artist's Statement

‘Fontana Shelter’ carries on with the art activity of Italian Painter Luigi Fontana and is a member of WestOx Arts Gallery in Bampton, Oxfordshire Artweeks in Oxford, Jaamzin Creative Studio in Singapore, Parallax Art Fair in London, SaatchiArt Online and Mart Gallery Studios in Dublin.

As a represented artist at Opulent Art Gallery in London and Artsy in New York, FS was the protagonist of two amazing Solo Showcases in 2024: one dedicated to Sir Matt Busby’s 30th death Anniversary, the other to Loch Fyne and Northumberland’s beauties.

To FS, Culture is a GETAWAY, an escape to survive and restart, and a GATEWAY, a romantic and enchanting means of access to Beauty and Truth. Moreover FS is proudly supported by DOWNTON GAZETTE cultural website (created in 2022 and concerning whatever can be referred to Downton Abbey TV drama series, and also Art, Literature, Theatre and Music in the UK and Ireland). That's why Downton Gazette’s latest books are phenomenally illustrated by Fontana Shelter: their titles are ‘Shining Ocean’ and ‘Guiding Light: Sir Busby. Feat. Mr Bates’, both available on Amazon.

Finally, FS featured in an awesome VOD on ITVX ANGLIA in 2024 in partnership with Downton Gazette and, thanks to this stunning idea, they started a powerful cultural iniziative called ‘Shining Norfolk’ with the aim to create a sort of special ‘net’ of Norfolk/East Anglia artists, galleries, museums and estates promoting local folklore, culture and beauties.

Also, FS happily accompanies Downton Gazette’s articles on MainlyMuseums.com (based in Canada) and adverts on Ox Mag, Ox Loves and Fyne Towns Website (Oxfordshire).

Lastly, Fontana Shelter was the 3rd Prize winner at Opulent Art Gallery's Call Out in November 2023 (UK) and recently won the Photography Special Recognition Awards at Light Space and Time’s ‘All Women Competition’ on January 1st 2025 (Santa Fé-USA).
