Acrylic and graphite on paper
Since returning to Norfolk and retiring I have been able to concentrate on my art practice which is fundamentally important to me. I spend a lot of time outdoors and will always take a sketchbook with me. I chose to live rurally and near the coast and my work is often landscape driven with varying degrees of abstraction. I do believe in the value of drawing and have a sketchbook love affair with portraiture.
I don't like to limit myself and although mainly have worked in acrylic and graphite I am experimenting with watercolour and pastels. I can see the influence of the natural world in my work but am often intuitive and respond to what occurs as I work.
