My name is Dana Nedelcu, and I am an acrylic painter based in King’s Lynn. My work grows out of this place, its tides, its winds, its histories, but also from the landscapes that have shaped me far beyond the shoreline. Mountains are my fresh breath, the place where I go to recharge and remember myself. Trees are always my roots, steadying me, grounding me, and they find their way into my paintings whenever life gives me the chance.

I paint intuitively, letting colour and movement form emotional landscapes that sit somewhere between memory and feeling. Love and love stories appear often in my work, sometimes quietly, sometimes boldly as gestures of honouring the connections that shape us. Sometimes, if it doesn’t appear in the painting, it will appear in the description, because I love to romanticise my words. Creative writing is part of me as well, I’m a bit of a wannabe writer too.

Alongside my studio practice (my home as I don’t have a proper studio yet), I run creative workshops at the True’s Yard Fisherfolk Museum, a space deeply tied to the town’s fishing heritage. Working there has become part of my artistic rhythm: a way of holding community, storytelling, and the softer moments of everyday life. Through both painting and teaching, I hope to offer small places of reflection, calm, and connection.
